El primer paso para poder comprometerse con el cuidado y respeto al medio
ambiente, es desde la educación que recibimos. En este sentido, el 27 de
septiembre, se recompensó el esfuerzo de los centros educativos por asumir esta
responsabilidad, realizando la ceremonia de “Certificación Ambiental de
Establecimientos Educacionales SNCAE”.
Luego de haber desarrollado diversas acciones sustentables, que englobaban
desde el ámbito curricular hasta la relación con el entorno, el Liceo Brígida Walker
y el Colegio Benjamín Claro Velasco, quedaron seleccionados para recibir la
Certificación Ambiental del programa SNCAE. Esta es una iniciativa del Ministerio
del Medio Ambiente para promover la cultura ambiental en las comunidades
educativas.
La ceremonia contempló la entrega de 143 Certificados Ambientales, entre ellos al
Liceo Brígida Walker, obteniendo este sello educacional por dos años. Además, se
complementó la jornada con una exposición sobre “Educación Ambiental y Cambio
Climático”, dirigida por Gianfranco Marcone, y la entrega de árboles por parte de
CONAF.
A la ceremonia asistieron representantes del Liceo Brígida Walker; la Seremi del
Medio Ambiente RM, Sonia Reyes; el Seremi de Energía RM, Iván Morán; la
Seremi de la Mujer y la Equidad de Género RM, Ana Martínez; y el director
regional de CONAF, Rodrigo Illesca.
